As in the case of the
fixed footbrace installation, modification of the plastic track is required
so as to assure successful bonding into the kayak with the factory supplied
screws. |

One solution is to chisel off a bit of the plastic side walls flush to the bottom of the groove so that the flat head is recessed. | |
Three minutes later. | |
Now the aluminium rail can slide freely in the plastic track and the threaded stem of the screw protrudes far enough to engage the nut - as it should. | |
Now the screw is trimmed off and the footbrace can be now affixed. See the next step or a similar procedure for mounting fixed footbraces |
