The sharp curve of the deck tip makes lamination such as the hull stem impractical. Instead, small
pine strips simulate the affect.
The next step is to glue on a solid piece of mahogany to match the hull stem band. |

Trial
and error is the cheap way to do these details or you can do it the easy way with
a 'Profile Tracing Gauge' for moldings. Every large lumber yard should have one of these.

solid piece of mahogany was scribed with the profile gauge and shaped on a beltsander to fit the
radius.
The final shape of the tip is left to the artistic imagination.
