Dust evacuation

Automated dust evacuation is another mandatory item if you are planning to dry mill anything. The vac is turned on automatically by M code in all my G-code programs before the spindle touches the work.

The vac, a low end ENCO 650cfm blower connected to a canvas bag. This works great for smaller jobs and where the particle size of the dust is large. Composites and MDF will clog it quickly.
The hose is a steel wire reinforced vinyl (Tool Crib) of 4" dia and is the perfect material for this application. It is suspended on pulleys riding on a tensioned 1/16" cable to reach every part of the table. When the vac turns on, the acordion hose shrinks to its shortest possible length.
